Starting just below the Shoshone Rapids, the Mild & Scenic Half Day Trip sets forth from Grizzly Creek, providing an enchanting 10-mile scenic float. Winding through a captivating stretch of the Colorado River, this journey reveals intermittent splashes and occasional Class II waves, guiding adventurers amidst the towering 1500' walls of Glenwood Canyon before concluding in Glenwood Springs. Crafted for those in search of a tranquil yet visually striking river experience, this trip emphasizes relaxation, wildlife encounters, and bird sighting opportunities. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the river, creating an ideal escape for those yearning for a peaceful and picturesque river adventure.
Please Note: This trip operates in conjunction with the Half Day Rafting Adventure, allowing thrill-seekers in each group to launch at the Shoshone boat ramp for the exhilaration of the Shoshone Rapids. During this 15-20 minute period, individuals preferring the Mild & Scenic Half Day Raft Trip will be shuttled downriver to Grizzly Creek, where they can observe and await the arrival of the Half Day Adventurers. Upon reuniting at Grizzly Creek, groups will continue downriver on the same boat(s) for the remaining 10 miles.

This trips is perfect for those that would prefer to take in the beautiful scenery while enjoying a relaxing float through the Glenwood Canyon, free of the splashing and paddling that takes place when on the first two miles of the Half Day Adventure (Shoshone Rapids). Often, this trip serves as a perfect balance for families and groups, as it allows each member to opt for the excitement of the Shoshone Rapids or the more relaxing float experienced downriver of the Grizzly Creek Boat Ramp. Either way, Blue Sky Rafting ensures that all members of your group will remain together and on the same boat from Grizzly Creek and downriver.
This trip begins at the Grizzly Creek (Colorado River / Glenwood Canyon) and then continues downriver for approximately 10 miles (during average flows), ending at the Blue Sky Rafting private boat ramp in West Glenwood Springs.
